Your Responsibilities With IT-IS

Starting yout Internship

When are hired as an intern, individuals will be introduced to the IT-IS team which will serve as guides and supports during the internship. This team will also be assigning tasks as the internship progresses.

Interns are expected to be self-motivated, independent employees. When given a task, there will often be minimal supervision. Additionally, when a task is completed, it is the duty of the intern to ask for another, and to actively be engaged in productive work for the University.

Paid Interns

When starting the internship, the paid intern will need to fill out all of the required paperwork. The intern must be eligible to work under all of the laws of the United States and the rules of the University. Details of the employment will be further explained upon hire.

After hire, the intern will be given responsibilities that will increase with time. As abilities progress, new tasks may be assigned.

Unpaid Interns

Rules of the unpaid internship will be negotiated with the student and ITLS.

Unpaid interns will be completing special projects for IT-IS and the USU faculty. It is expected that the student will work with the ITIS staff to outline the nature of each task. As the intern becomes more familiar with various tasks, more independence will be expected. Most projects will not add up to the 400 hours required for the internship, so multiple projects are expected.
